Rip Rap, Soft Shore Line and Erosion Control are all part of the strategic placement of stones or large angular rocks over soil or sand. Waterfront soft land is commonly stabilized utilizing R4, R5 & R6 stones and sometimes with boulders as placement and soil stabilization construction techniques. We install Rip Rap to protect the soil from erosion forces and to improve the stability of slopes subject to seepage or have poor soil or sand structure. 

The application of Rip Rap protects inlets, water outlets, bays, drainage channels or other areas subject to erosion by storm water runoff. We use stone, rocks and other materials to armor shorelines, stream beds, bridge abutments, pilings, and other shoreline structures against water erosion. The seawalls we create are the perfect alternative to vegetated slopes and can last up to thirty years if properly constructed. Rip Rap has many practical applications on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and the Delaware Beach areas. 

Some of the areas we protect are shorelines subject to wave action, inlets and outlets for culverts, bridges, slope drains, grade stabilization structures, and storm drains; where the velocity of water flow from these structures exceeds the capacity to resist erosion. Rip Rap offers an effective method for decreasing water velocity and protecting slopes from erosion. Once installed properly, it is relatively easy to maintain. Sometimes, we need to demolish an existing seawall to build it back up the right way.
